“ Lloyd's Jamaican patties are absolutely amazing. We normally pick up a couple of dozen frozen patties and warm them up when the craving hits. The first time we wondered in there (many years ago), the gentlemen was so kind and polite. The store was actually closed at the time, and he was there to pickup something. He then offered to heat up a couple of the Jamaican patties for us. We have been hooked ever since. Their jerky chicken and oxtail are equally awesome! At times, their customer service may seem cold or even rude, but they are actually really nice people and their food is incredibly delicious. ”

I got a regular Beef Patty and a Spicy Beef Patty. They were served very hot. The patty exterior was crispy and flakey. The meat filling was wet, less textural, and there's plenty of air inside. My experience with Jamaican patties was during my university days at UBC, so I'm not sure what is authentic and how it should be. I just know that I enjoyed these Jamaican patties. I would love to try the chicken next time to see how they compare. ”
